In 2022, International Social Accountability and Accreditation Think Tank (ISAATT) supported the launch of an International Steering Committee to continue to direct this work and to achieve synergy and impact around the world. In the fall of 2022, the International Social Accountability and Accreditation Steering Committee (ISAASC) was established. It is housed within the Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity at NOSM University. The membership of ISAASC consists of the working group co-chairs and additional regional, professional, gender, and equity representation. Through works, ISAASC found that there's a need for a home for the world’s accreditation researchers, and the research working group is one of four pillars in the ISAASC committee structure.
1. Identify research priorities that will advance understanding and inform practices that align accreditation for health professions education with social needs.
2. Coordinate and support individuals and groups to conducat research aligned with research priorities.
3. Support evaluation of ISAASC activities/programs
