Dr Sateesh Arja, M.B.B.S., MHPE, PhD, FAMEE, PFHEA, FAcad Med., is a professor of medical education at Avalon University School of Medicine, Curacao. He has over twenty years of experience in medical education in the Caribbean region. He has expertise in curriculum and faculty development, assessments, change management, and accreditation. He holds a key educational leadership role as the Dean of the School of Medicine. He led his institution's self-study taskforce committees for five accreditation site visits. He is an expert panel reviewer for many medical education journals. He is an editorial board member for four journals in medical education, including Medical Science Educator and BMC Medical Education. He is on the board of Directors for the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE). He also does accreditation site visits for the Caribbean Accreditation Authority of Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). He is one of the assessors for the WFME accreditation recognition program.  He specializes in accreditation and researching its impact on continuous quality improvement and cost-effectiveness.
