Saad is the Administrative Assistant Intern for the Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity and the Equity and Inclusion Portfolio at NOSM University. A proud graduate from Lakehead University, Saad received the Dean’s Scholar Award in 2025 as the top graduate in the Bachelor of Administration program. He reports to Arcand Centre Manager Dr. Jessica Jurgutis, working collegially with Dr. Erin Cameron and Dr. Joseph LeBlanc to ensure both the Centre and Portfolio workflows run smoothly, while bringing a high level of administrative precision and data organization to build trust within the team.
Prior to stepping into this role, Saad built a strong foundation within the regional academic ecosystem through various roles at Lakehead University and as a student assistant at the Health Sciences Library, NOSM University. Having spent the last four years in the region, his dedication to the North is deeply personal and rooted in the belief that equitable access to resources should never be dictated by geography. This commitment drives his active community volunteering, which includes collaborating with local networks to coordinate food & clothing parcel distributions to northern communities like Sioux Lookout.
In his spare time, Saad loves exploring Thunder Bay’s local culinary landscape and experimenting with new recipes at home. Motivated by a natural curiosity about global cultures and languages, he thrives on learning from the diverse backgrounds of those around him. Saad is always eager to build meaningful connections within the community; please feel free to reach out to say hello and exchange a good laugh or a funny story!
