Dr. Roya Daneshmand is the Research Coordinator with Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute. She works with the NOSM University Research Toward Health Hub (NORTHH)—a practice-based research network for primary health-care providers within the Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity. Roya’s work focuses on learning health systems, electronic medical records in primary health care settings, Quadruple aim, and improving the quality of care in Northern Ontario. With a PhD in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph and a Master in Public Health and Nutrition from Finland, Dr. Daneshmand has expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research. She has also worked as a researcher in Marathon Family Health team focusing on important projects for Northern, rural, and remote Ontario. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, canoeing, and exploring all that Northern Ontario has to offer.
