Maxwell is a third-year medical student at NOSM University, currently working on his first research project through the Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity centring around AI and its applications in diabetes care. He began his healthcare journey as a caregiver and personal support worker before becoming a Registered Nurse, gaining experience in both long-term and acute care settings. Driven by a passion for innovation, Maxwell developed and launched an iOS and WatchOS app created during the COVID-19 pandemic to help nurses manage time-sensitive clinical tasks. Now pursuing his MD, he brings a patient-centred perspective to research focused on healthcare delivery, innovation, and equitable access—particularly in Northern and underserved communities. His past work includes clinical policy development, interprofessional education, community health outreach, and leading teams to produce functional, frontline solutions.
In his spare time, he enjoys books, writing, being outdoors, and engaging in a wide breadth of extracurricular organizations surrounding physician entrepreneurship, a business accelerator, and his school’s student journal.
